This Privacy Policy applies to the SanskritamLab mobile application published on Google Play and its associated web app hosted at sanskritam-six.vercel.app.

1. Introduction

The Sanskritam app is an educational and cultural application designed to provide learning materials, texts, and resources for Sanskrit. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparent data practices in compliance with Google Play Developer Program Policies.

2. Data Collection and Usage

We believe in data minimization. The Sanskritam application collects only minimal technical data necessary to deliver core features:

Personal Information: We do not require account registration, login credentials, phone numbers, or credit card details to use the application. We do not collect or sell any personal data.
Local App Storage: User preferences, study progress, audio settings, and theme choices are stored locally on your device via SharedPreferences / browser local cache. This data never leaves your device.
Network and Diagnostics: Standard technical metadata (such as device model, OS version, and network state) may be processed in transit by hosting edge servers (Vercel) solely to ensure connectivity and deliver static assets securely.

3. Device Permissions

The app requests minimal permissions strictly required for core functionality:

INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to load educational content, grammar references, and audio stream data from our secure edge endpoints.

We do not access sensitive permissions such as precise location, contacts, camera, or microphone.

4. Third-Party Services and Analytics

The application does not integrate third-party advertising networks (e.g., AdMob) or invasive tracking SDKs. Web content and APIs are delivered through:

Vercel Inc.: Content delivery network and hosting provider. (Subject to Vercel Privacy Policy).

5. Data Retention and Account Deletion

Because Sanskritam does not require an account or collect personal profiles on remote servers:

There is no centralized user profile or personal database retained by us.
To delete all locally stored preferences and progress, you can clear app storage at any time via Android Settings → Apps → Sanskritam → Storage → Clear Storage / Clear Cache, or by uninstalling the application.

6. Children's Privacy

Our app is designed for general audiences and educational purposes. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.

7. Security

All network communications between the app and our web endpoints are encrypted using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (HTTPS / TLS 1.3).

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy to reflect changes in legal requirements or app features. Updates will be posted to this URL with a revised effective date.
